8/21/03: Collectech announcement REFUSING any disputes, demanding that consumers seeking correction of their credit reporting dispute with the bureaus or have the original creditor contact Collectech:
I'd like to see a class action to MAKE them not only comply with the FDCPA, but to also add an announcement with an e-mail address and a fax # for disputes.
Prior to hearing this announcement, I spoke with Jim at Collectech in the Woodland Hills office. He refused to provide me with their fax #, told me to mail my power of attorney or dispute. Then he refused to provide his last name. He lectured me how rude I was because I requested his last name TWICE.
Three times I tried to tell him that I need his last name if my client has to go to court over this, but he kept interrupting me. He refused to transfer me to his supervisor.
Finally, he told me that my client needed to call him, and he hung up on me.
Not a good move - that pissed me off!
Now the Collectech announcement is posted here, only because Jim wouldn't give me their fax #. Jim ought to get his walking papers. |
