CHICAGO, August 9, 2000 -- Trans Union LLC (TU), a worldwide provider of information and decision-processing services, together with the MediFAX® EDI, Inc. (MediFAX®) information network, a service of The Potomac Group, Inc., is providing healthcare organizations with the most comprehensive patient verification tools available.
Access to Trans Union?s database of consumer credit information is now available over the Internet through MediFAX®'s newest product, MediFAX® NetDirect. This new product is a secure processing site that meets the HCFA encryption criteria required to process medical transactions over the Internet. Nashville-based MediFAX® provides healthcare information compiled from a variety of commercial and government databases that allow healthcare organizations to verify patient eligibility information from several private and public insurance plans.
